The method involves detecting permanent, statistically distributed, physical and/or chemical change of a product (2) by a detection device (12). Product identification (8) i.e. code, is produced from detected change by a processing device (16), where a characteristic feature such as feature of package or safety feature or stamping (6) of safety feature or print of safety feature of the product or ratio of two different characteristic features is detected as the change. The change of the product is accessed by the processing device. An encryption algorithm is produced by the processing device. The features of the product are provided as kinks, scratches, tears, labels and spots. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for testing product identification applied on a product (2) a device for producing product identification and a feature of a product (3) a device for testing product identification applied on a product. |
