511,886. Moulding artificial horn. ELHARDT, E., and ELHARDT, A., (trading as ELHARDT SOHNE, A.). May 13, 1938, No. 14383. Convention date, June 12, 1937. [Class 87 (ii)] Patterned artificial horn plates are produced by applying a coloured relief design consisting of an unhardened artificial horn mass to a base plate of unhardened artificial horn and pressing the whole before the masses have hardened so as to force the pattern into the base plate leaving a flat surface. A transparent layer may be applied over or under the pattern. Various flat articles such as button discs may be formed from the plates. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the patterned plates may be machined or ground so as to cause the pattern more or less to disappear. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
