<p>The invention relates to a superimposed-type ignition device (ÜZG) for igniting a high-pressure discharge lamp (LA) which is operated with an alternating current and which comprises a control circuit (TS) for operating the superimposed-type ignition device (ÜZG) when the lamp is in the start mode.
