[Class 140] A die for coating a wire as shown ir Fig. 2 comprises four side members each consisting of a head portion 51, Fig. 5, provided with a bore 59 and an adjustable rod 53 which engages the wire either with the smooth surface 57 or the the grooved portion 56. The heac 51 carries two spaced arms 52 which hole the rod 53 by screw 55 in the adjusted position and also an extended bar 62 for receiving an adjusting screw 61. As assembled in Fig. 2, the rod of one side member is slidably mounted in the bore of another member and two springs 60 and a clip 65 bias opposite pairs of members towards each other.
