The active silencer (1) has a multiple-shelled housing (2) which consists of a cup-shaped upper shell (3) and a cup-shaped lower shell (4). A funnel shaped sound guidance body (5) is inserted into the lower shell. A loudspeaker (8) is arranged in the upper shell and is mounted at a flange section (7) of the sound guidance body such that a free inner cross section of the sound guidance body is locked in gas-tight manner. The free inner cross section is enclosed by the flange section. A bypass (31) is provided by which the upper shell is connected with the internal space of the lower shell.
