摘要 PURPOSE: A planar optical waveguide device with an optical waveguide for alignment is provided to align conveniently a chip and an optical fiber array of an input side, and the chip and an optical fiber array of an output side. CONSTITUTION: A planar optical waveguide device comprises a chip (110), an optical fiber array (120) of an input side, and an optical fiber array (130) of an output side. The chip comprises a lower clad layer (111), a plurality of linear optical waveguides (113), an upper clad layer (118), and lids (119). The plurality of linear optical wave guides is formed on one side of the lower clad layer. The upper clad layer is formed on one side of the lower clad layer in a form that the upper clad layer covers the linear optical wave guide. The lid is respectively formed in both ends of one side of the upper clad layer. The optical fiber array of the input side is connected to one side of the chip has a plurality of ports (121) which are respectively connected to one end of the linear optical wave guide. The optical fiber array of the output side is connected to the other side of the chip has a plurality of ports (131) which are respectively connected to the other end of the linear optical wave guide.
