PURPOSE: A device for manufacturing an LED backlight unit and a method thereof are provided to efficiently attach sheet type structures to a substrate in which light sources are protruded. CONSTITUTION: An LED backlight unit comprises a stage in which a plurality of LEDs(52) are protruded on a backlight substrate(50) and a roller(80) which attaches a sheet type member to the backlight substrate. The roller has a plurality of grooves coping with the protruded LEDs on the backlight substrate and attaches the sheet type member to the backlight substrate.
