<p>A valve 600 includes an outer structure 601 and includes a hollow shaft 603 that has holes formed therein. The shaft 603 is disposed within the outer structure 601 and is translatable from a first position to a second position. A memory metal alloy (MMA) spring 602 is coupled to the shaft 603 and the outer structure 601. The MMA spring 602 expands and moves the shaft 603 from the first position to the second position in response to a temperature of a fluid. A valve head 605 is coupled to the shaft 603 and is biased within the outer structure 601, the valve head 605 closing a bypass inlet in the first position and allowing fluid to enter the bypass inlet in the second position, and transferring fluid from the bypass inlet into the hollow shaft 603 so that the fluid can exit the valve 600 via an outlet. A pressure relief mechanism may be included.</p> |
