The tower (2) has a tower section (10) having a tower wall and an inwardly extending base flange. Self-supporting tower structure in the tower section has stands supported on the periphery of the base flange. The stands are parallel to the tower wall and spaced apart from the tower wall, and are connected with the cross beams. A damping element is arranged between the tower structure and the inside of tower wall. An independent claim is included for method for establishing the tower for wind turbine.
