According to the present concept, a receiving chamber (13) is made in a bearing-ring half (10) on the end side (12) of the latter, which receiving chamber (13) is filled with an adhesive expansion material (expansion adhesive) (22) which can be activated from outside. Here, the adhesive material (22) first of all does not have any adhesive properties. Two bearing-ring halves are then joined and connected to one another non-positively. After the connection is made, the adhesive material (22) is activated and therefore caused to expand in terms of volume. Thereupon, the activated adhesive material (22) grows in volume, fills the receiving chamber and produces adhesion in a contact zone of the two mating parts. A material-to-material connection is therefore produced between the two bearing-ring halves. |
