The method involves generating a hot gas by combustion of a fuel (F) in a compressed gas atmosphere in a combustion chamber (11) such that a gas turbine (13) is driven by the hot gas. The gas atmosphere is enriched with a light inert gas (LG) that is selected from 24 ppm of helium and/or neon. A gas fraction generated from the hot gas, oxygen and/or the light inert gas utilized for creating the gas atmosphere. The light inert gas is against supplied to 90 % of the gas atmosphere after the combustion in the hot gas.
