<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing aqueous dispersion for inkjet recording excellent in filterability, the aqueous dispersion, and an aqueous ink for inkjet recording containing the dispersion. <P>SOLUTION: [1] This method for producing aqueous dispersion for inkjet recording includes: a step (1) of obtaining aqueous dispersion of pigment-containing polymer particles, the solid concentration of which is ≥25 wt.%, by removing at least an organic solvent from the dispersion of the pigment-containing polymer particles; a step (2) of reducing the solid concentration by ≥3.5 wt.%, by adding an aqueous medium to the resultant aqueous dispersion; and a step (3) of obtaining the aqueous dispersion for inkjet recording, by removing rough particles from the resultant aqueous dispersion.
