PURPOSE: Location information providing device and method thereof are provided to transmit location information having an instant messaging application program to a predetermined destination mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A message management unit (440) judges a type of state message including state information of a managed terminal. A communication unit (410) directly or indirectly transmits the state information or information message including the location information of the managed terminal according to the type of the state message to a predetermined management terminal. The state message and information message are transceived using an extensible messaging and presence protocol (XMPP). The state message includes the state information into a presence tag in an extensible markup language (XML) type.
