PURPOSE: An apparatus for supplying metal scraps is provided to supply the required amount of the metal scraps to a crucible. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for supplying metal scraps comprises sensing units (61, 62) and a supply unit. The sensing units are installed at the upper side of a crucible, and measure a level of molten metal in the crucible. The supply unit controls the supply amount of the metal scraps based on data on the level of the molten metal. The sensing units measure changes in the level of the molten metal by one of the laser irradiation, ultrasonic, and the camera method. |
