PURPOSE: A hemoglobin measurement device is provided to accurately and reliably measure total concentration of hemoglobin using a small amount of whole blood. CONSTITUTION: A system for measuring the concentration of hemoglobin in whole blood comprises: a light irradiation unit (10) containing a light source, which emits incident lights with a first wavelength of 520-590 nm and a second wavelength of 800 nm; a diffusion unit (20) which disperses the incident lights emitted from the light irradiation unit; a cuvette receiving unit (30) which contains a cuvette (32) for a whole blood sample; a detection unit (40) which measures absorbance of the incident lights; a processing unit (50) which processes the measured absorbance and determines the concentration of hemoglobin in whole blood; and a control unit (60) which regulates irradiation in order for the incident light with the first wavelength and the incident light with the second wavelength to be irradiated sequentially.
