PURPOSE: A traffic information providing method and a device thereof are provided to use traffic information applied to different map data. CONSTITUTION: A traffic information providing device(100) includes a reception part(310) and a conversion part(320). The reception part receives traffic information corresponding to first map data. The traffic information corresponding to the first map data is generated through communications between a communications device mounted on a mobile unit and a communication device mounted on a fixed unit. The conversion part converts the received traffic information into traffic information corresponding to second map data. The reception part receives traffic information corresponding to the map of the ministry of land, infrastructure, and transport, and the conversion part converts the received traffic information into traffic information corresponding to TPEG(Transport Protocol Experts Group).
