PURPOSE: An erosion preventing structure of a gland casing for a low-pressure turbine is provided to prevent the leakage of internal high-pressure steam of the turbine through a coupling part of the gland casing because the erosion and corrosion of the gland casing due to the high-pressure steam is prevented by forming a surface-modification welding layer with excellent corrosion resistance on the assembled cross-section of the gland casing, thereby increasing the power generation efficiency of the turbine. CONSTITUTION: An erosion preventing structure of a gland casing for a low-pressure turbine has a gland casing (110) surrounding the outer circumference of a rotor (101) of a steam turbine. Packing rings (120) are installed on the inner circumference of the gland casing to cut off the flow of high-pressure steam flowing along the shaft diameter of the rotor. The gland casing is manufactured by assembling upper and lower bodies. A surface-modification welding layer (110a) with excellent corrosion resistance is formed on the assembled cross-section of the gland casing to prevent erosion due to the high-pressure steam. The surface-modification welding layer is manufactured by an overlay welding method. Welding materials to form the surface-modification welding layer are SUS-based alloys and nickel-based alloys. |
