PURPOSE: A method for measuring a dead zone of a tank for a vessel is as follows. CONSTITUTION: A control unit measures a dead zone at a measurement point by using each incident distance of laser beams calculated based on the timing the laser beam is emitted from a laser beam emitting unit and the timing when the laser beams are returned sensed by a laser beam sensing unit and controls a display of the result of the calculation.
