An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device capable of controlling a viewing angle and a driving method thereof are provided to generate positive/negative interference sub pixel driving signals with the same width on the basis of the common voltage of a horizontal electric field not to generate DC(Direct Current) disparity in interference sub pixels, thereby preventing noise and an afterimage. A panel(30) has the interference sub pixels of a vertical electric field and the color sub pixels of a horizontal electric field. A common voltage generator(50) supplies the common voltage of the horizontal electric field to the common electrodes of the interference/color sub pixels all. An interference data generator(40) generates interference sub pixel data to be supplied to the interference sub pixels. A driving unit(44,46) drives the color sub pixels and the interference sub pixels with the pixel driving signal of polarity alternately inverted on the basis of the common voltage of the horizontal electric field in response to color sub pixel data and interference sub pixel data from the outside. An interference data corrector(52) corrects the gray value of the interference sub pixel data to be supplied to the driving unit from the interference data generator on the basis of the common voltage of the horizontal electric field from the common voltage generator. |
