An image display device and a driving method thereof are provided to form selectively two-dimensional images and three-dimensional images by using a sub-panel including a lenticular array. A display panel(100) displays a plurality of images. A backlight unit(150) is positioned at the backside of the display panel to supply light for displaying the images. A plurality of sub-panels(110) are positioned at a front side and a rear side of the display panel to convert polarization elements of the light and to decide a path of the light. A polarization control unit(170) controls the converting operations of the sub-panels and adjusts N-dimensional images when the images are coupled with each other at a particular distance. A system control unit(160) controls the display panel, the backlight unit, and the polarization control unit. |
