Systems, methods and apparatus are disclosed involving cosmetics brushes and face charts for strategic application of make-up. In particular, embodiments of the invention involve cosmetics brushes having markings color-coded to match make-up types, locations, and application steps within a sequence, as depicted on a corresponding face chart for the strategic application of make-up to achieve a desired look, using, for example, a code key to explain the face chart. Each desired look may have a specific face chart that uses color-coded markings to match a brush with a make-up type, location, and step, for a given purpose. Numerous other aspects are provided.
