PURPOSE: A tapping device of a mold press is provided to reduce an error by performing a tapping work after an object put into a press mold is sensed by an object detection sensor. CONSTITUTION: A tapping device of a mold press comprises a servo motor (10), a universal joint (20), a horizontal shaft (35), a vertical shaft, a spindle (50), a tap (60), and a detection sensor. The horizontal shaft is connected to the universal joint, and a first gear is formed on one side thereof. The vertical shaft has a second gear in gear with the first gear. One side of the spindle is installed on the vertical shaft, and the other side has screw threads.
