The invention relates to a method for producing a synthesis gas from municipal solid waste (MSW) and more specifically, from the fraction thereof called refuse-derived fuel (RDF). The method comprises a step of gasification on a bubbling fluidised bed at atmospheric pressure and temperatures of between 750º C and 850º C, using oxygen-enriched air as a gasifying agent, and a step of immediate cleaning and conditioning of the synthesis gas, mainly based on the use of a catalytic reforming reactor comprising a bed formed by a metal catalyst, which operates at a temperature of between 750º C and 850º C, where the endothermic reforming process is carried out with water vapour from tar and other hydrocarbons.
