ELECTRODE HAVING POROUS COATING LAYER AND ELECTROCHEMICAL DEVICE CONTAINING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An electrode has excellent quality by preventing the penetration of a binder polymer into an electrode active material layer and improves the stability of a battery by uniformly forming the porous coating layer. CONSTITUTION: An electrode (100) comprises a current collector (110); an electrode active material layer (120) which is formed on at least one side of the current collector and includes the mixture of an electrode active material particle and a first binder polymer; and a porous coating layer which is formed on the surface of the electrode active material layer, includes the mixture of an inorganic particle and a second binder polymer, and satisfies formula 1: (T_max-T_min)/T_avg <= 0.35. In the formula 1, T_max is the maximum thickness of a porous coating layer formed on the surface of the electrode active material layer when the cross-section porous coating layer is observed through an electron microscope, T_min is the minimum thickness of the porous coating layer, and T_avg is the average thickness of the porous coating layer.
