PURPOSE: A spray powder and a substrate containing a super ferritic iron-based compound and a brake disk including a thermal spray layer are provided to efficiently supply a thermal spray process as a friction layer on a brake disk for all types of land vehicles and aircrafts. CONSTITUTION: A spray powder containing a super ferritic iron-based compound contains chemical elements selected from a group comprised of a C, Mn, Cr, Mo, Ni, Nb, P, S, Si, Fe, Al, O, and Zr except for the impurities. The spray powder contains less than 0.7 wt% of C, less than 0.7 wt% of Mn, less than 0.5 wt% of Ni, less than 1.2 wt% of Nb, less than 0.1 wt% of P, less than 0.1 wt% of S, less than 0.2 wt% of Si, a 20-40 wt% range of Cr, a 2.0-6 wt% range of Mo, less than 50 wt% of ceramic composition Al2O3/ZrO2, and the remaining Fe. The spray powder contains less than 0.4 wt% of additional chemical elements as impurity. |
