PURPOSE: A brake lining for a railway vehicle on which an abrasion limit is indicated is provided to contribute to safety driving and fixed time driving of a train and prevent the waste of costs caused by unnecessary changes by allowing an inspector to objectively and accurately determine whether the brake lining should be changed or not due to the abrasion of the brake lining by looking only the brake lining. CONSTITUTION: A brake lining for a railway vehicle on which an abrasion limit is indicated includes a concave groove (12), an inclined groove (13), a dovetail (15), and an abrasion limit indicating unit (14). The concave groove is transversely formed on a compression surface (11) to radiate frictional heat to the outside. The inclined groove is vertically formed to the concave groove and penetrates a block unit (17) in order to emit frictional heat. The dovetail protrudes from the bottom surface of the brake lining to connect the brake lining to a lining head. The abrasion limit indicating unit is formed in a L shape in order to have a step in an inner direction along the corner of the outer circumference on the bottom surface of the brake lining.
