METHOD FOR OBTAINING CARBON-BASED SORBENT

Carbon-based sorbent is obtained by carbonization of lignocelluloses’ raw material, its further subsequent activation with alkali and sequential washing with water, with solution of hydrochloric acid and again with water at 50 centigrade until neutral pH is reached, and finally by drying. The obtained cooled carbonizate is immersed into 50 % alkali solution in the proportion of 1:2 to 1:4 calculated on the ratio of dry matter, soaked for 30 min at room temperature, and after that activated in the preheated reactor for 60 to 90 min at the temperature of 700-800 centigrade.Carbonization of lignocelluloses’ raw materials are carried out in the environment of volatile gases produced in the process of pyrolysis with heating rate 4-6 centigrade up to 300-600 centigrade and exposure at the final temperature for 60-120 min. 50-20 mm fraction of wood chips is used as a lignocelluloses’ raw material.
