The device has a part including an excitation coil of a material constituting an inner wall of a pipe, and a detection coil for detecting response signals resulting from a magnetic field in the material. Another part processes the response signals of the pipe subjected to the magnetic field to associate the response signals to a time, so as to determine a measuring position of the device at a given instant, and combine measurements of characteristic parameters of a fluid flowing in the pipe at a given position. An independent claim is also included for a method for geolocating and measuring one or more characteristic parameters of a fluid flowing in a pipe.
