The accessory has a hollow body (1) including a proximal end (2) and a distal shaping end (4) associated with hair guiding combs (7) and with a gripping unit gripping a hair lock. The gripping unit has a gripping comb provided with elastically deformable gripping teeth that are made of electrically conductive material i.e. metal. Each tooth has shape of U or V formed of elastic branches (12) that are connected at the level of a core to form a head, of the tooth, oriented towards the distal end. The opposite branches of the teeth define a hair gripping space (E) parallel to the guiding teeth. An independent claim is also included for a method for shaping hair from its root.
