PURPOSE: An mp4 file composition device and a recovering device, and an mp4 file configuration method and a recovering method are provided to recover and play an audio and a video stored up to now by using data stored up to now even if a storage of 'a moov box which should be included in the file' is not completed or an MP4 file is not completed normally due to an abortion of any device while storing media data as an MP4 file on a real time basis. CONSTITUTION: An mp4 file composition device and a recovering device, and an mp4 file configuration method and a recovering method comprise the following steps: a media acquisition unit (110) obtains 'media data generated by a camera or a microphone (101)'; an MP4 file configuration unit (120) divides media data into a predetermined sample by sample, and adds additional information in each sample, and records a generated frame in an mdat box; the MP4 file configuration unit generates and records meta data, and records at least part among the meta data in 'a specific box included in an MP4 file'; and a file storage unit (130) stores 'multiple boxes which the MP4 file configuration unit records' as one MP4 file on a real time basis.
