The method involves determining (101) a value of a first parameter corresponding to an exhaustive statistical variable of whole or part of transmitted data on a time interval. A value of second parameter is determined (102) from the value of the first parameter. A value of third parameter is determined (103) from the value of the second parameter and/or a value of a fourth parameter corresponding to exhaustive statistical variable of whole or part of the data, where the value of fourth and first parameters are determined from the value of the third and fourth parameters, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a system for continuously updating a parameter representative of a physical magnitude associated with geometric element on a finite geometric assembly based on location.
