PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an organic electroluminescent display device color filter which, even when an overcoat layer is formed, can still maintain the height of a convex column at a desired height.SOLUTION: An overcoat layer is formed in steps including: a step in which a coating of photocuring resin is applied to a non-pixel area including a convex column and a region covering a pixel portion; an exposure step in which the photocuring resin applied in the above step is hardened by letting it exposed to light in such a way that the region where the convex column was formed is exposed more than in other regions so that an exposure amount for the region where the convex column is formed is larger than an exposure amount for the other regions; a cleaning step in which the unhardened photocuring resin is cleaned.
