PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a layered double hydroxide having a sufficiently high aspect ratio even without exfoliating layers, a resin composition containing the layered double hydroxide, and a method for reinforcing the resin composition.SOLUTION: A method for producing a layered double hydroxide includes reacting an aqueous solution containing divalent metal ions and trivalent metal ions at 100-200°C in the presence of a material which slowly releases hydroxide ions upon dissolution in water, a 2-6C carboxylic acid or its anion, and a 1-4C alcohol. |
