PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion member with excellent durability.SOLUTION: A wavelength conversion member 1 includes a wavelength conversion layer 20, a metallic plate 10, and a low thermal expansion material 30. The wavelength conversion layer 20 is made of inorganic phosphor powder dispersed in glass-matrix. The metallic plate 10 is jointed to the wavelength conversion layer 20. The low thermal expansion material 30 is jointed to a side of the metallic plate 10 opposite to the wavelength conversion layer 20 superposed by the wavelength conversion layer 20. The low thermal expansion material 30 has a thermal expansion coefficient lower than the metallic plate 10.
