A backlight module and a liquid crystal display device. The backlight module comprises a backplane (1) and a light source (2). The light source (2) is arranged on the backplane (1), and the external side surface of the backplane (1) close to the light source (2) is provided with a heat pipe (3). Because the light source (2) is a heat-emitting source, the closer to the light source (2), the higher the temperature. Using a highly efficient heat transfer mechanism of the heat pipe (3) to quickly dissipate the heat of the backplane (1) to the outside of the backplane indirectly reduces the temperature inside the backplane (1), especially the temperature near the light source (2), thereby extending the service life of a backlight module and a liquid crystal display device. |
