A stop control device (100) of an internal combustion engine executes stop control on an internal combustion engine (200) having three or fewer cylinders. The stop control device of the internal combustion engine comprises a determination means (161) for determining a compression step immediately before the internal combustion engine stops, and a throttle valve control means (168) for performing control during the compression step determined by the determination means immediately before the internal combustion engine stops so that while the intake valves (211) of all cylinders are closed, the opening degree of a throttle valve (208) reaches a predetermined opening degree. The effects of intake negative pressure in the intake step are thereby reduced, and the crank angle while the engine has stopped can be suitably controlled even in an internal combustion engine having three or fewer cylinders. |
