<p>The cutting tool has an electrically heatable cutting wire (10), which is clamped between the opposite side pieces of a U-shaped cutting frame (8). The cutting wire is movably mounted in guides (6) arranged on a base plate (2) in the direction of side pieces. One of the guides is provided with a latch element and the respective side piece is provided with another latch element. The two latch elements interact for limiting the cutting depth. One of the latch elements is mounted in the longitudinal direction of the guide or of the side piece in a moving and locked manner.</p>
