<p>The airbag of a side airbag device is stably expanded even in a vehicle in which the distance between an occupant and a side wall is small. An airbag (10) for protecting the body (92) of an occupant (90) which is below the shoulders (91) is provided between the occupant (90) and a sidewall of the vehicle and protects the occupant (90). The airbag (10) has an expansion section (17) formed by joining opposing base fabrics (12, 13) and has a three-dimensionally shaped section (22). The opposing base fabrics (12, 13) have a pair of cutouts formed at the overlapping positions of the peripheral edges (15) of the base fabrics (12, 13), the overlapping positions being each located at a part of each of the peripheral edges (15), and which are joined together while being stretched in the thickness direction of the expansion section (17). The three-dimensionally shaped section (22) is located at the peripheral edge (19) of the expansion section (17) and is formed three-dimensionally in the thickness direction of the expansion section (17) by the joined pair of cutouts.</p> |
