摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of manufacturing a thermally expansible microcapsule having a large particle size with good productivity while suppressing flocculation.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a thermally expansible microcapsule includes a step of preparing an aqueous dispersing medium containing a colloidal silica aggregate by adding a colloidal silica dispersion to an aqueous inorganic salt solution, a step of preparing an emulsion by suspending an oily substance containing a polymerizable monomer, a volatile liquid and a polymerization initiator in the aqueous dispersing medium, and a step of polymerizing the polymerizable monomer. In the step of preparing the aqueous dispersing medium, the content of colloidal silica in the colloidal silica dispersion is 23-37 wt.% and the colloidal silica dispersion is added so that the turbidity of the aqueous dispersing medium becomes 27-48°.
