The method involves measuring a property of an aqueous liquid (3,3') through a sensor (6,41), and performing an evaluation of a shelf life and usability of the aqueous fluid based on the measured property in a treatment process. A required treatment or a special use of the stored aqueous liquid is provided in the evaluation of the shelf life and usability of the aqueous fluid. The processing has a filtration of the aqueous liquid and the treatment of the aqueous liquid with an oxidizing agent. The property of the aqueous liquid is selected from turbidity, smell and amount of dissolved oxygen.
