The charge controller has a direct current-direct current (DC/DC) converter (3) for charging an internal energy storage device (2). The input (E) of the DC/DC converter is connected with a charging capacitor (4). A control loop (R) is provided for adjusting secondary voltage (UR). A current measuring circuit (5) is provided for measuring the current from the two-wire-bus (1). A current measuring resistor (9) is connected between the two-wire bus and the charging capacitor to determine the charge voltage of the energy storage device. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a two-wire bus; and (2) a method for charging energy storage device of two-wire bus.
