<p>A battery pack provided with: an electrical cell module (2) in which a single secondary cell or a plurality of secondary cells are connected; a switch circuit (3) connected in series between the electrical cell module and an external terminal; and a protective circuit (4) which includes a voltage detection unit (6) for detecting the voltage of the secondary cell and an electrical current detection unit (7) for detecting an electrical current flowing between the electrical cell module and the external terminal, and which controls the switch circuit on the basis of the detection signals of the voltage detection unit and the electrical current detection unit. The protective circuit is configured so that when the detection signals exhibit a normal state the switch circuit is controlled so as to be in a conductive state, and when the detection signals exhibit an anomalous state the switch circuit is controlled so as to be in a non-conductive state. The switch circuit is constituted of a parallel circuit having a physical switch (10) and a semiconductor switch (11) and connected in parallel between the secondary cell and the external terminal. This makes it possible to minimize power consumed by the switch circuit for charge and discharge control in instances both of low current and high current, and also during storage.</p> |
