PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device including a sheet separating mechanism by assist of warm air, installable even in a small space.SOLUTION: When a predetermined paper feeding unit 130 is selected for image forming, a lowering drive determination portion 82 controls to blow warm air to a lateral side parallel to the paper feeding direction of a sheet bundle S from a lateral warm air mechanism 150 while outputting a control signal which drives to lower a push-up member 32, to a stepping motor M2 via an information input/output portion 85 based on a first time-up signal from a first timer 86 and performing a separating motion to lower a lift plate 31 from a paper feeding position where the lift plate 31 contacts with a pickup roller 40, to a separating position where the lift plate 31 separates from the pickup roller 40.
