PURPOSE: A culling method using test steps is provided to detect collisions between two triangles by asking queries into which levels by step and features of triangles are reflected. CONSTITUTION: A side-peak culling test about the peak of a first triangle is performed (S1), and depending on the test results, the test algorithm ends or the next step follows. In the following step, a side-peak culling test about the peak of a second triangle is performed (S2). Whether the signs of the peaks of the triangle edges are the same is determined, and depending on the determination, the edges are excluded from the culling test (S3).
