PURPOSE: A refrigerator and a freezer are provided to supply high energy saving performance by suppressing inflow of a high temperature refrigerant which is heat loaded from a condenser to an evaporator in stopping the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises an insulation box(10), a refrigeration cycle, and a first control unit. The insulation box insulates a storage chamber inside the refrigerator and the outside of the refrigerator. The refrigeration cycle circulating the refrigerator comprises a compressor(24); a first condenser; a second condenser located on the front opening edge of the insulation box; a third condenser installed in a place except the front opening edge of the insulation box; a flow path changing valve for changing flow paths towards the second condenser and the third condenser; a decompression means; and an evaporator. The first control unit closes the water pathways of the second condenser and the third condenser for a certain time before stopping the compressor and controls the collected refrigerant in order to reduce the amount of refrigerant in the second condenser and the third condenser by stopping the compressor. |
