摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device using power gating, in which power consumption is reduced.SOLUTION: A plurality of temperature sensors are arranged in a semiconductor integrated circuit 100 that enables power gating and has a plurality of circuit blocks. Each of the temperature sensors detects the temperature of each of the circuit blocks to set an optimum off-period according to the temperature for each of the circuit blocks. Specifically, the semiconductor device includes: arithmetic circuits 105 and 107; storage circuits 109 and 111 that hold data obtained by the arithmetic circuits; power supply control switches 101 and 103 that control the supply of a power supply voltage to the arithmetic circuits; temperature detection circuits 113 and 115 that detect the temperature of the storage circuits and derive overhead according to the temperature; and a controller 117 that, if power consumption that can be reduced is larger than the overhead, sets a period during which supply of the power supply voltage is blocked and controls the power supply control switches.
