The lighting device has a planar light-guiding element (2) that guides light between first portion (4) at first preferred direction (V1) and second portion (5) at second preferred direction (V2) over offset angle in the main direction (9). The light coupled in first preferred direction is deflected towards second preferred direction at offset angle through leading end of light detour unit. The flat sides (8,8',10,10') of light-guiding element are formed as optic-free so that light coupled by total reflectance at the flat sides is passed to light uncoupling surface (11).
