The device (2) has a heat radiator (22) e.g. electrical operated infrared radiator, arranged at a rear side of a mirror element (10) of an inner mirror i.e. inner rearview mirror. The mirror element comprises a reflecting surface (12) and is configured such that electromagnetic radiation (24) of the heat radiator is transmitted by the mirror element. The mirror element is designed as transparent mirror glasses, which comprise a metallic layer on the reflecting surface. The mirror element is configured such that the electromagnetic radiation of the heat radiator is reduced in a visible region. The radiator is designed as an infrared radiation emitting lamp such as an incandescent lamp, a halogen incandescent lamp, carbon radiator and an infrared radiation LED.
