PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time for diagnosing whether or not an idling stop control function operates normally.SOLUTION: An ECU 20 comprises an automatic stopping means for automatically stopping an engine 10 by stopping the combustion of the engine 10 if an automatic stopping condition is satisfied, and a restarting means for restarting the engine 10 by driving a starter 15 if a restarting condition is satisfied after the automatic stopping condition has been satisfied. An ECU 20 further comprises an accepting means for accepting a specific signal showing that it is not an ordinary run by a user but a vehicle run for diagnosis. The automatic stopping condition includes a first stopping condition showing that the vehicle is in a predetermined decelerating state, and a second stopping condition relating to startability of the engine 10 at the restart. If the first stopping condition is satisfied, the automatic stopping means carries out the automatic stop as long as the accepting means has accepted a specific signal regardless of whether or not the second stopping condition is satisfied. |
