PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem with a 3-level power conversion apparatus configured using a 2-in-1 and a 1-in-1 semiconductor module, that wiring inductance increases when a capacity is expanded, so does a surge voltage at switching time, causing semiconductor devices to break down easily.SOLUTION: A first and a second 2-in-1 type semiconductor module, each incorporating two semiconductor switches independently of each other and having four main terminals, are used to configure a semiconductor switch series circuit which is connected to between P and N of a series power supply pack by one semiconductor switch of the two in the first module and one of the two in the second module. Then, a bidirectional switch connected to between a midpoint terminal M of the series power supply pack and the series connection point of the semiconductor switch series circuit is configured with the other semiconductor switch in the first module and the other semiconductor switch in the second module. Further, the second semiconductor module is turned 90 degrees relative to the first semiconductor module as they are disposed. |
